ERM has advised the Founders of Fireglass, a software company that has developed a system for isolating surfing within organisations on its acquisition by the US based and Nasdaq traded cyber security company Symantec for around $250 million.

The acquisition is significant as Symantec, one of the most prominent players in the field of information security, has almost no presence in Israel and it will lead to establishment of a development centre for the multinational as well enabling the company to broaden its security platform.

Natalie Noy, head of our high-tech and start-ups practice, led the team on the transaction which included Maya Schneider who leads our employment team.

ERM has the pleasure in hosting a book talk on Sunday 25 June where the author and lawyer Stuart H. Newberger will be discussing his fascinating new book “The Forgotten Flight” with Dr. Shuki Friedman.

On September 19, 1989, 170 people were killed when UTA Flight 772 was destroyed by a suitcase bomb planted by Libyan agents. Despite being one of the deadliest terror attacks in history, outside France it remained overshadowed by the Lockerbie bombing that had taken place ten months earlier. Both attacks were carried out at the instruction of Libya’s dictator Muammer Qaddafi, but while ‘Lockerbie’ became synonymous with international terrorism, UTA 772 became the ‘forgotten flight’.

As a lawyer, Stuart H. Newberger represented the families of the seven Americans killed in the UTA 772 attack. Now he tells the story of the ‘forgotten flight’.

  • 17:45 – Refreshments
  • 18:00 – Introductory remarks from Amnon Epstein
  • 18:10 – Book talk: Stuart H. Newberger in conversation with Dr. Shuki Friedman
  • 19:30 – Event ends

For further details, please click on the invitation below or RSVP to Efrat Black – [email protected] if you would like to attend.
